River Trip Planner

The Choptank and Tuckahoe Rivers offer a wide variety of trip opportunities -- from one-hour quick trips to overnight adventures -- that help you explore the cultural and natural resources of the most beautiful tidal rivers in the Chesapeake region.

Maps and photographs are presented for all of the trip itineraries.  The  trips have been measured and rated for difficulty like this:

  • Easy (1-3 miles)
  • Moderate (3-5 miles)
  • Challenging  (5+ miles)

The trips are categorized by the heritage themes that they illustrate. The heritage themes are:

  • Nature/Environment
  • Pre-History
  • Religion
  • Riverine Trade
